IMU Community Service Club has been involved in the 30-Hour Famine Event for years and it has been bringing positive impacts to the volunteers who participated in this project in the previous years. As this project is the pioneer to fight hunger, the volunteers from IMU Community Service Club will provide first aid service during the event, in order to support the hunger warriors.

The objectives of World Vision 30-Hour Famine are to get united in order to learn about hunger, raise funds to help the hungry and go hungry for 30 hours.

The fund raised will be used to help reducing hunger and poverty in the rural countries especially towards the children.

WORLD VISION 30-HOUR FAMINE 2017

On 29th and 30th July 2017, IMU Community Service club had sent 12 volunteers from IMU to participate as First Aid volunteer for 30-Hour Famine organized by World Vision Malaysia. The event was held at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam.

World Vision 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. The participants of 30-Hour Famine Camp will experience hunger for 30 hours and undergo experiential activities designed in order to place them in the shoes of people living in impoverished communities.

Around 14,000 participants from all over the Malaysia had attended 30-Hour famine countdown. The volunteers were able to lend a hand to them by providing them immediate care when the participants were feeling unwell or injured. The common cases encountered during the event were hypoglycemia, gastric pain and sprain. Fortunately, the event ended successfully.

A big thanks to all the volunteers who are willing to spend their time to be a part of this big event!  The organizer also expressed their gratitude as they had not enough First Aid volunteers this year. A small action can make a big difference! Thank you everyone who had made this project a success!!
